Fleet Champs #1 & 2
Fleet Champs for Day Number 2 was a continuation of the fabulous, sunny racing we enjoyed in April. The winds were not as strong, and Stan didn't keep us out there until 4:56 pm, so my bones and muscles are not so weary today.
Shifty, flukey conditions on the last half of the windward beat made for some chessboard manuevering around windward marks and at the finishes. I don't seem to recall such a predominant "magic shift" out of the left as many times as we saw yesterday. Doug Hart and his new MBYC junior crew Drue Cicchetto duked it out with The Dynamic Tyler Duo (Pruett and Sinks) as they ended up tied for the day with 9 points each. Only Rick Arenson/Gus Wirth and Steve Stewart/Adam Roberts were able to crack one of the top two spots in separate races.
